CottonDB (http://www.cottondb.org/) is an open source web-accessible genome database designed to hold genomic, genetic and taxonomic information for cotton (Gossypium spp.).  Among the data sets included are sequences, cDNA libraries, genetic maps, molecular markers, QTLs, pathogens, germplasm pedigrees and trait evaluations, and relevant bibliographic citations.  CottonDB’s web interface incorporates popular visualization tools such as a CMap, Web BLAST, WebFPC and GBrowse. Interaction among these tools and with other commonly used public databases (i.e. GenBank, UniProt, PlantGDB, TGI, PubMed, GRIN, PVP, etc.) and other cotton databases (i.e. Cotton Portal and CMD) are available through CottonDB.  In addition, CottonDB Quick Queries helps users to expedite access to the most frequently asked queries and the Cotton Breeder's Toolbox provides an enhanced and extended special set of queries for cotton breeders.

The database is in the process of  being converted  from acedb format into CottonGen, a genomics, genetics  and breeding database developed in Tripal.
