As one of the major oilseed crops, soybean provides a rich source of proteins and oil for food, feed and industrial uses. Harvestable yield continues to be the most valued trait by soybean producers.Yield improvement via transgenic approaches has the potential to bring a step change in yield gain. The discovery and development of transgenes for improving soybean yield requires a diverse source of genes, detailed molecular characterization, releveant screens, and reliable field testing locations. In this presentation, we provide an industry perspective of soybean yield improvement through transgenic approaches.
