Date: Sunday, January 15, 2012

To make the most of genotyping resources for the benefit of a species it is useful to have a capacity for information gathering and sharing of breed based and ideally phenotypic information. The equine community has taken some small steps to enable the sharing of Illumina genotyping array based information. It is envisaged that this resource will provide a facility for public access to data that has been published and that the collective resource might provide an avenue for broader-scale genetic analysis. This workshop will discuss the kinds of features that might be required in such a resource and will canvas canine and feline community views on how an effective data sharing facility might be developed.
