iAnimal is a USDA funded project to incorporate three widely used bioinformatics resources onto the iPlant cyberinfrastructure.  This workshop will demonstrate how one platform, EPIC-CoGe, has been incorporated with iPlant to improve its utility for animal researchers.  EPIC-CoGe facilitates the management and visualization of quantitative and diversity genomics data through an easy to use web-based system. We will focus on how EPIC-CoGe can be used to import, store, manage and visualize quantitative data. We will demonstrate the use of EPIC-CoGe for advanced user-data management, integration of functional genomics and diversity data and the integration of JBrowse for genome viewing. We will also demonstrate the use of iPlant cyberinfrastructure resources incorporated with EPIC-CoGe to store, manage and share quantitative data and iPlant’s Discovery Environment tools to run variant analysis pipelines. We will also highlight how iPlant and EPIC-CoGe are partnered with iAnimal to develop an ecosystem of integrated computational resources to enable agricultural researchers to accelerate their discoveries towards improving US agriculture.
