Lucigen - Closing and Finishing Genomes and BACs with Long Span NGS Reads

Lucigen’s long span NGS read technology is capable of generating mate pair sequencing reads that span 50 Kb in length, enabling de novo genome assemble, closure and finishing on the Illumina or Ion Torrent platforms. User defined 2-8 Kb mate pair (MP) or 10-25 Kb MP libraries can be produced with bead based or gel purification protocols, and a novel fosmid based approach generates 35-50 Kb MP libraries. This workshop introduces a new tool for long span NGS reads, with presentations demonstrating the efficient assembly, closing and finishing of genomes and BACs.
