A bioinformatics user interface (BUI) is developed to reduce formidable data analysis tasks to a seamless data analysis process for the analysis and interpretation of SNP-phenotype relationships using genome-wide SNP data. The BUI is a user-friendly graphical platform that integrates multiple analytical, graphical and bioinformatics tools. The current version of BUI includes a pipeline of software tools for performing genome-wide association analysis, comparison of genome differences between populations using SNP markers, graphical visualization of results from genome-wide association analysis or other types of statistical tests, and software tools for genetic analysis. The BUI currently offers this pipeline of software tools to run on local computer platforms such as laptop and desktop computers and offers easy access to run on remote computers such as supercomputers and cloud computing systems for continued BUI processing of the data analysis results. Integration with bioinformatics tools is at the beginning stage. The preliminary BUI is easy to use and accomplishes many data analysis tasks in a seamless fashion and will have continuous updates of functions and features.
