The International Research Initiative for Wheat Improvement

The International Research Initiative for Wheat Improvement (Wheat Initiative), that was endorsed last June by the G20 agricultural ministers, was launched officially on September 15, 2011 in Paris.  The Wheat Initiative aims at bridging national research programs and the CGIAR global WHEAT program by identifying synergies and nurturing collaborations. The rationale, aims, scope and governance framework of this international cooperation initiative will be presented, as well as the actions planned for 2012.
